How To Draw Snoopy. In Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip Peanuts, Snoopy, an anthropomorphic beagle, is Charles Brown’s pet dog. Snoopy made his first appearance in the late 1950s, but to this day, Snoopy is considered one of the most iconic cartoon characters. The extreme popularity of Snoopy has created many requests for a free Snoopy drawing tutorial.
We are here; we have organized a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw Snoopy, summarized in 9 quick steps and simple illustrations. Have fun, and use your artistic skills! You can draw many more characters like how to draw batman, Anubis drawing, a cat drawing, a cobra drawing, a blueberry drawing, a coconut drawing, and many more drawings for kids.
Step 1:
Start by drawing an exaggerated U-shaped curved line to form Snoopy’s ear. The ear should be drawn at the top left of your paper to ensure enough space for Snoopy’s full head and body. To ensure that Snoopy is drawn in the center, you can create reference lines by drawing horizontal and vertical line that intersects on the paper. This should divide your paper into four square spaces. The top left space of your paper is where you need to draw Snoopy’s ear.
Step 2:
Draw Snoopy’s head next to his ear, which we drew in the previous step. Remember that Snoopy is facing right. Therefore, the outline of the face should be in the side view. Since Snoopy is a dog, remember to emphasize the muzzle by making it the widest part of Snoopy’s head.
Step 3:
Just below the head, draw an elongated shape with a round bottom. Make sure the lower part of the body is wider than the upper part. Avoid pressing too hard with the pencil when drawing Snoopy’s body. It’s important to draw with light strokes to easily remove unnecessary lines overlapping certain parts of Snoopy’s body later.
Step 4:
Continue by drawing two short parallel lines connected directly to the bottom of Snoopy’s torso. This forms Snoopy’s left leg. Next, draw an oval shape on the side with a flat bottom under the leg to create the foot. Add two curved lines on Snoopy’s foot to create the lines between the legs!
Step 5:
Draw the right leg next to the leg we drew in the previous step. Since Snoopy is facing to the side, this leg should only be half visible, as shown in the illustration.
Step 6:
On the side of Snoopy’s torso, draw a long U-shaped curve that forms the left arm. Next, draw two short, curved lines at the bottom of the arm to create three separate legs.
Step 7:
Draw a sharp, pointed shape connected to the lower portion of Snoopy’s rear. This creates a slender tail, one of Snoopy’s most distinctive features!
Step 8:
Dress Snoopy by putting a necklace around his neck. Draw a thin horizontal shape around Snoopy’s neck to create the collar. To form the nose, remove a semicircle instantly connected to the border of Snoopy’s look. Since Snoopy is facing the right side, the nose should be attached to the right edge, as shown in the illustration.
Step 9:
To complete Snoopy’s look, we will now draw his facial features one by one. Draw a small vertical oval shape for the eye from top to bottom. Then shade all the eyes to add emotion. Next, draw an oval shape inside Snoopy’s ear. The shape should be parallel to the outline of the ear, creating the appearance of an inner ear. There you go: you have successfully drawn Snoopy.
Now it’s time to carry on to the step you’re most keen about: paint Snoopy. Snoopy’s coat is white. On the other hand, some of his Snoopy physical features are colored black, such as his nose, ears, and a spot on his back. You can color Snoopy with his original colors or customize a unique set of colors to make Snoopy more colorful. Everything depends on you! After all, it’s your work of art.
