Hrithik was born in a Punjabi family on 10th January 1974 in Mumbai. His father Rakesh Roshan had also been a yesteryear actor. You must have enjoyed one of his movies called Khoobsurat with actress Rekha. Whereas his uncle Rajesh Roshan is a music director and composer in the Indian film industry. Hrithik has an elder sister named Sunaina.
Well, a fact about Hrithik would come as inspiration for all. At an early stage, he had a problem with speech impairment. At the age of 6, he used to stammer a lot and that made him face problems in school. Hrithik also faced cold behavior from his peers due to his extra thumb. But with time he came out from his problem of speech, and his extra finger hardly made any impact on his debonair personality later.
Even though most will consider Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai as his first movie. However, for your information let me tell you that Hrithik had already made his acting debut as a child artist in Aap Ke Deewane, Aas Paas, Aasra Pyaar Da, and Bhagwaan Dada. All these movies came around the 1980s decade.
Personal Life
With the very first movie, Hrithik garnered an immense female fan following. But he was already in a relationship with Sanjay Khan’s daughter Sussane Khan and has two sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan from her. What came as a shock was the divorce of Sussane and Hrithik after a long time bonding.
Career
Even though he experienced acting at an early stage, still he did not get much noticed in these movies. We were most familiar with other child artists like Jugal Hansraj in Masoom, Raju Shrestha from movies like Parichay and Chitchor. It was then in the millennium year 2000, Hrithik made a sensation with his debut movie Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai directed by his father Rakesh Roshan.
Overnight Success
The movie became the highest grosser at the box office. The media termed the overnight success of Hrithik Roshan as ‘Hrithik Mania’ and was termed as ‘ Millennial Superstar’. Can you remember any actor who shares a similar craze with the very first movie? Of course not. His debut movie Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai made an entry into Guinness World Records and also in Limca Book of Records.
The movie got numerous awards. The success of his son’s debut movie made father Rakesh Roshan proud, and he too got his debut Filmfare Award. And Hrithik became the only actor in Bollywood who simultaneously became the recipient of the awards for the Best Debut and the Best Actor.
After Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Hrithik did face a downfall in his career with films that did not do well at the box office. Then once again his father Rakesh Roshan took the onus of fencing the lost track of his son’s acting career with the movie Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish movie series. And so the actor bounced back with movies like Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara, Bang Bang with Katrina Kaif.
In Agneepath, he played the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan and shared screen space with senior actors Sanjay Dutt in the role of Kaancha Cheena, and Rishi Kapoor as Rauf Lala. He also made a good pairing with Aishwarya Rai with movies like Dhoom 2, Jodha Akbar, and Guzaarish.
Both the senior actors portrayed negative roles. In Kaabil he played the role of a blind who avenges the rape and murder of his wife. The film starred the Roy brothers (Ronit & Rohit) in negative roles. He also did a challenging role of late mathematician Anand Kumar in a film Super30 dedicated to his life. Currently, he was seen in the movie War with Tiger Shroff. You might see him in the upcoming unreleased movie Fighter with Deepika Padukone.
